IU forms a new program to build school administrators
Working to promote professional development of young leaders in education, Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and the IU School of Education have launched a collaborative program that focuses on management and leadership.
Students looking to pursue careers as superintendents and other education administration roles can benefit from the new program, which will prepare students for roles as policymakers.
"The Kelley School's globally recognized strategic management faculty will provide school leaders with the tools to direct the future of education in the state of Indiana and eventually nationwide," said Dan Smith, dean of the Kelley School of Business.
Ranked in the top 15 in public school undergraduate programs, the Kelley School and the IU School of Education will work together on this new program that will give students more options post-graduation.
Indiana University was also recently in the news when it formed an agreement with Ball State University that will allow students who have earned a master's of science degree in adult education from the IU program in Indianapolis to transfer up to 30 credit hours toward a doctor of education degree in adult, higher and community education from Ball State, reported Frost Illustrated.
